Carl Di Casoli

A citizen of both the USA and Italy, Carl Di Casoli studied statistics at North Carolina State University in Raleigh earning the PhD degree in 2009. Although he currently works as head of biometrics (biostatistics, statistical programming and data management) at Gan & Lee Pharmaceuticals, he finds time to indulge his passion for piano through recitals and amateur competitions. He recently won first prize this summer at the Oberlin Adult Amateur Competition and has won first prize at the 2019 San Diego International Amateur Competition. He recently played the Liszt Concerto #1 and Rachmaninov Concerto #3 with the New Horizons Symphony in Las Cruces, New Mexico and performed in New York City, at Merkin, Weill, and Zankel Halls. The main piano teachers which shaped his artistic path include Dr. Rosalina Sackstein (also childhood teacher of Gabriela Montero), Vladimir Bakk, Russell Sherman, and Wha Kyung Byun.
