Yuchao Zhou

Yuchao Zhou is a software engineer based in the San Francisco Bay Area whose musical journey began at age five. Pursuing classical piano independently for over two decades alongside his engineering career, he regards the instrument as an enduring sanctuary and a vital voice for artistic expression. A dedicated amateur pianist, Yuchao won fifth prize at the 2026 Oberlin International Adult Amateur Piano Competition, following a finalist placement in 2025, and received the Rachmaninoff Prize at the 2026 Washington International Piano Artists Competition. His stage appearances include performing with the Mission College Symphony as a California Concerto Festival soloist and participating in the PianoTexas Amateur Program.
