Brad began piano studies at an early age with his grandmother in Virginia. For nine summers, he attended Brevard Music Center where he studied primarily with Marilyn Neeley. In New York City, he studied with German Diez, a protégé of Claudio Arrau, and currently studies with Erna Gulabyan. Other teachers have included Ken Huber, Diedre Davis, Ray Luck and Corky Sablinsky. He has won prizes in the New York City International Piano Competition for Outstanding Amateurs, the WIPAC Competition, and the Amateur Pianists International Competition in Colorado; most recently he was a finalist in the 2025 Oberlin International Adult Amateur Piano Competition and was invited to perform a recital at Newport Classical in 2022.
